A Gift For You!

The cyclones really brought the welcome relief we needed from the scorching summers, the thunderstorm and cold breeze forced me to walk to my balcony and take in some fresh air. I quickly grabbed my laptop, and sat comfortably to set the theme and get the feel of how I typically imagine delusional writers being dissolved in their art between lofty green mountains and natural soundscapes.

But before I could soak in the whole experience and get lost in the serendipity, the rain came pouring down, and to my surprise it soon decided to do a mischief, and tried to drench me. I had no choice but rush indoors!

Sitting on my dinning, perceiving the friskiness and excitement of the dancing raindrops, I turned on the best companion of bad weather- radio, and tuned to my favorite station of retro songs. “Aye Zindagi Gale Laga Le….Humne Bhi Tere Har Ek Gam Ko Gale Se Lagaya Hai, Haina....(O life, embrace me….I too have embraced every sorrow of yours, haven’t I?)” as the melody filled the air, I slipped into the healing realm of music. I was almost on the verge of experiencing ecstasy when slowly, like a physiatrist bringing his patient back from hypnosis, the Rj’s voice drew me back. In his unusually chirpy way he started to speak about the value of memories in life and how they keep you youthful despite growing age. As he spoke more about the rainy weather and the mutual memories we all experience during rains, I became so reminiscent of my own intimate moments from the past. And before I could realize, slowly that Rj handed his listeners back to melodious songs.

This made me realize how powerful the influence of one’s voice can be. And I thought why not I along with my family of percipient writers bring the most relatable and touching stories for you!
