Not This Again!

One look.

That is all it took.

My train of thoughts got interrupted.

The arrangements of my goals were easily disrupted.

Meeting your eye gaze,

Got me locked in your maze.

My heart answered the call,

The moment you walked into the hall.

It didn’t need my permission.

My heart is trained to break all tradition.

Your show off entrance persuaded it to re-beat with a single tune,

Causing it to reemerge from its safe cocoon.

Everything floated in air.

Sunshine caught in your hair.

Rules are fighting in line.

Eager to which one of them you will get to resign.

Please do not approach my table.

Do not force me to put down my "happily single" label.

Holding my breath just in case,

So you wouldn’t notice the unsettling you are projecting on my personal space.

You are ruining my walls reps.

They are trembling desperately trying to match the sound of your footsteps.

You are pushing away my overstayed eclipse,

And here I am laying down my future at the curve of your lips.

Oh silly heart, when will you set me free?

Didn’t we throw all of our affection wishes to the sea?

You turned your back and I’m already homesick.

Such a profound trick.

Thankfully you got distracted by one of your fellows.

A window of opportunity to bid you farewell before our hellos.

As I storm out of the door, I can sense Cupid is glaring at me with his eyes narrow.

I have once again successfully dodged his arrow.
