To Find You Again

To find you again.

I still vividly remember,

The first time we met,

We both were in a rush, in an abounding rush to reach those bustling places where we were never meant to be and in this haste we lost our train of thought,

Without discerning that if we couldn't stay together, we could still walk together.

We hustled, on the wrong paths,

Like two fine misty raindrops falling from the black pre-dawn sky just to meet in a lopsided puddle again,

You, as the tepid sunshine and me as the wan moonlight, we couldn't even stand by for the sombre evening to unite both of us.

Recklessly swimming in the turbulent oceans of promises with the impelling thirst of timid love,

Combating with each other's indistinct shadows, that held nothing but a fallacious image escaping from realities.

As if we were two wind-blown blithe dandelions waiting to reach a vague destination to grow together,

Like two sunken mountain rocks rolling down the barren peak,

Like two gaunt birds who have just learnt to fly and desire to feel the whole convex horizon on their wings,

But the next time,

I hope to find you in numbing peace,

Not running up hastily on a staircase,

While the clouds were roaring in the thunderstorms so much that I could barely hear you, but sitting on a sunny ground,

In the only corner of a dark room where rays of light would be entering through a tiny hole shining on your forehead making every wrinkle crystal clear,

And my smiles, and my talks and a few words of mine would then, have the power enough to remove them all,

In the silent hills where the only sounds would be of two thumping hearts and two shriveling voices,

In the serenity that is found beside a river flowing making soothing sounds,

At the farthest end of a dense forest through which I've walked through alone just to find you again, in the end.

When you would stay longer, long enough for me to store a thousand glimpses of you in my eyes,

Time would pass in the blink of an eye but give memories that can be pondered upon for hours,

And winds past my ears would past through yours too, murmuring all the long letters I've been writing to you in your absence.

We will meet again,

Because deep down, I know that you know,

We had to stay a little longer, and no matter how much sand is left in the hourglass, the time we need with each other can never be enough,

There will always be something left unsaid, that would be promised to be spoken the next time,

There will always be a wait for a better ending, rather a forever.

There will always be a wait for a better ending, rather, a forever.
